Clear gold with a nice white head. Mandarin and light mango. Bitter citrus peel and mandarin orange. Dry finish which accentuates the bitterness.

Draft at the brewpub, Osaka. Hazy golden orange with a ring off white head. Aroma of fruity hops, citrus, light grapefruit and green weeds. Flavour is above light sweet and moderate to heavy bitter. Light medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Tap at the Osaka Brewpub. The aroma is malt, citrus fruits, big woody hop. The flavour is moderate to strong bitter, with a crisp, fresh, fruity, dry pepper spice palate and a long bitter finish. Medium bodied with average carbonation.

Their first batch was released the week before I went. Taster (480 yen) at the brewpub. Clear amber copper with minimal head. It has a herbal sharply minty sweet fruit aroma (evoking some weird purple gum I used to get at Halloween). Medium to full bodied with an earthy herbal and quite bitter flavor. They didntbskimp on hops I’d say. It’s an old school west coast IPA. Not bad and fairly clean for a first attempt. Made with nugget and cascade according to the brewer who was making a jasmine beer when I went.
