A fresh, modern take on the beer style that once dominated British brewing. Our authentic recipe produces a light yet wonderfully smooth porter, paired with the natural flavouring of whole fruits. The result is a finely balanced blend of mellow dark malts with a subtle red glow and hoppy aromas that compliment a sweet yet delicate yet fruity nose. Vegan & gluten-free.

Last beer of a Wrexham/Chester day out, although I'm back in Cheshire tomorrow for even more debauchery. The plum is more dominant than the raisin in this one, giving it quite a rich character via the fruit. Its dark malt character is best in aroma and the brew has a soft texture that gives it a good mouthfeel in an easy-to-drink sense.

Cask at Tapps Rhos. Dark brown. Opaque. Suprisinly light in colour. Foamy light beige head..The aroma has the required dark fruity with a coffee edge. Flavourwise it's got coffee and berries for a sour start. The sweet fruit then takes the edge off. But it's all rather low key. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Soft-fizzy carbonation. Long slightly astringent finish. Overly polite stuff.

Hand-pulled half-pint at the Crown Inn, Oakengates on 16th June 2025. Ruby hue to the dark body, beige cap. I hoped it would smell and taste like Rum, but it didn't. It's fruity and interesting though, if a little tame with it's body depth.

Cask at Brewery Tap, Chester. Pours a substantially dark reddish-brown with a small foamy tan head. The aroma has plums, molasses and roasted malts. Plums again to the fore in the mouth where it is quite sweet with a creamy texture. Dried fruit also prevalent, alongside wine gums and traces of malts. Finish is fruity and slightly dry. This is reasonable enough – but a bit boring (not much bite to it).
