Due to its authenticity, Earthmonk received as little sugar as possible during bottle conditioning in order to preserve all original aromas and flavours. This beer comes with little carbonation and a mini head. Is best served at cellar temperature and poured generously, meaning from a hight of approximately 15 to 20 CM, in an upright standing tulip glass. A big bubbled head will quickly make place for the Earthmonk coming alive!

29/08/2011 Bibere (330ml bottle).

330 ml bottle bought @ Etre Gourmet. 2008 vintage. Rating number 500! Pours very dark reddish brown with no head to speak of giving it a very vinous look. Smell is sweet and sour with prunes, raisins, balsamic vinegar, burnt sugar, wood and cherries. Taste is slightly sweet, sour, slightly bitter and very vinous with wood, vinegar, sour cherries, gooseberries, orange zest, cherry pits, very ripe grapes, minerals, black currants and prunes. Finish is rather subtle and tart with our cherries, burnt sugar and black currants.

5/13/13/14/14/14

Bottle @ home, courtesy of foppa78. Very huge thanks Mat! Deep brown appearance with a very small tan head. Lightly funky, cherry, red fruity, acetic, light band-aid, dark caramel, light estery aroma. More acetic acid in the flavor with cherry, red fruits, vinegar, molasses, tangy, dark fruity, plum, oaky, tangy flavor. Fun beer to try. Thanks again Mat!

2008 bottle. Pours a clear amber brown color with a thin creamy tan head. Decent head retention. Tart vinegar aroma with a malty finish. The taste is tart and earthy with a balsamic quality and a vegetal note in the finish. Medium bodied.

33 cl bottle. 2008 vintage. Dark brown liquid with very small or no head. Smells of vinegar, green apples and medicinal alcohol. A bit smoke/malt. Taste is a bit sour (vinegar) and light sweetness and no bitterness and lots of malt, caramel and so on. Medium bitter and little carbonation. Nice overall, very nice tasting but a bit unrefined taste.

Bottle shared by Kyle, thanks! Poured a clear rosy amber with a small white head that dissipated to the edges. Aroma reminded me a lot of balsamic with some vinegar and dark tart fruits with a good amount of acid. Flavor started with a light sour dark fruit note with a bit of vinegar and a good amount of acid. A bit different but good.

Bottle. A typical Struise beer! It has got the "Struise-smoothness" and the "Struise-agening quality". Its not overly sour. The sourness is rather fruity. It has also got notes of raisin, soy, and wood. Earthy. A very complex beer!

Bottle. Pours dark brown, coffe like without any head. Aroma of sour medecin, licorice and paint. Complex and interesting, but not very welcomeing... Smooth and heavy mouthfeel. Complex taste like the Pannepots, fruity of raisins and plums with a yoghurty tartness.
