Carnivale Brettanomyces, 2017, van tap @In de Wildeman. helder gouden met witte kraag. aroma van paarden, kruiden, gras. smaken zijn matig zuur, gras, hout, véél gras btw, bourbon, druif, iets scherp, ’k vind het maar wat weird.

On tap. Pours a light mahogany colour with full head. Aromas of vinous wood, sour dark fruit, and rye malts. Initial sour dark fruit and balsamic vinegar yield to caramel and sweet malts and light bourbon. Unique. Very nice

Tap at In de Wildeman. Clear amber with off white head. Huge bourbon on the nose. Strong vanilla, soft grapes, gooseberries, caramel, toffee. Quite sweet and sharp sour. Medium bodied. Massive bourbon, works well with the sour ale. Like it!

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines. Sour but musty grapes with a fruit sugariness and earthiness. A peachy amber. Opaque. Very thin white head. Kinda looks like a cocktail. Wow... that is sour. My wife just asked, What?, to the weird noises I just made. Amplified by being served pretty cold. There’s also a fruity element to it, Acid Jam is a fitting name. Medium bodied. Slick, with a sticky residue. Light carbonation. Dry finish, relatively abrupt considering the sour element. A sipper.

Tap@Taphouse Siren TTO, Copenhagen - pours golden amber with white head. Sour fruity aroma and taste, acidic, lots of citrus fruity notes with some prominent bourbon and red wine notes coming in, wood, light vanilla, some berry fruits, tart fruity finish.

Bottle from Oddbins Beer Shop, Blackheath. Copper coloured pour with a white head. Nose of sour berries, black cherry, strawberry, wet wood, oak. Flavours of raspberry jam, tart berries, red cherry, sultana. Very nice indeed.
