On their way to the New Zealand hop harvest, our mates at Deya dropped in to see how the Blue Mountains compared to the English Countryside that they call home. To help them acclimatise, we brewed a beer together for their arrival that could help remind them of home and hint to the adventures ahead.

Luckily, it turns out that the Blue Mountains climate is pretty similar to Cheltenham and our taste in hops is as well. So this easy drinking hazy became an ode to our similarities and a farewell to hops that we’ve just grown apart from.

Using a Citra base, we added in Centennial Incognito flowable hops into the whirlpool, before adding in an all New Zealand dry hop in the form of Motueka and Cryo Motueka, creating a profile that is full of citrus in the form of limes, lemons and oranges with layers of cherry and orange blossom.

Can. Opaque yellow orange with a cm of white head. Tropical and citrus aroma with some herbal notes. Lots of lychee and pineapple. Somewhat chalky texture with orange and lemon pith, tropical fruit and an almost bark-like herbal bitterness.

From a 500ml can on 21/3/2025. Pours a hazy golden with a smallish head. The nose is punchy with tropical and citrus notes. The taste is sharp with citrus dominating - orange, lemon and a touch of lime, and some peach. Finishes tangy and lightly spicy. Silky mouthfeel with moderate carbonation. Very enjoyable.
