[Cask at the Hope Tap (JDW), Reading.] A pale straw coloured pour with a thin white head; cucumber aroma; very thin and watery with a cucumber and melon taste; then a light spicy bitterness. Not a favourite.

Cask at Square Peg, Birmingham. Pours a pale straw with a small foamy off-white head and good lacing. There’s melon and cucumber in the aroma. In the mouth it is decidedly sharp but with a little underlying sweetness. Flavours of citrus, lemon, cucumber and melon plus traces of tropical fruits and kiwi later on. Sharpness lasts into the somewhat dry finish. This is reasonable – more sharp / tart than sour though.

Appearance is clear golden, with a half-finger foamy head. Aroma is cucumber, bit of hoppy fruit, fruit salad, all about the cucumber though. Taste is cucumber, bitter hops, smooth and juicy, fruit bowl, melon, bit of wheaty malt undertones, cucumber dominates, some salty undertones.

Tight white head left a cover on a slowly carbonating pale gold body. Fridge salad drawer & melon aroma. Medium bodied, minimal carbonation & limp on the back. Overpowering cucumber, vegetal, turnip & white wine tastes. How can anyone make a beer so bad - did anyone at the brewery taste it before it was released?

(Can) Clear golden with big loose white head that lasts pretty well. Aroma is cucumber with lemon notes. Light bodied with plenty of good carbonation. The taste is cucumber with a bit of lemon tartness. There’s the barest hint of biscuit malt in the mid palate. Maybe marrow and melon hints in the finish with very little bitterness. Refreshing, interesting, not very sour for a sour. Not regretting I tried it but can’t imagine choosing it again.

4/4/2019. Can from the Adnams shop, Bury St Edmunds. Pours pale gold with an average sized white head. Aroma of over-ripe cucumber, melon, flowers, straw, plastic and a hint of mint. Moderate sweetness, light bitterness, hint of tartness. Moderate body, slight watery texture, average carbonation. Odd, didn't work for me.

Can from Tesco's, Brooklands. Sour cucumber and melon aroma. Refreshing. Copper gold. Fluffy translucent white head which fades. Initial light sourness which is then tempered by the umami-sweet combination of the cucumber and melon. However the sourness reasserts itself into the finish. Light bodied. Thin. Slick. Average carbonation. Long finish. Refreshing if not mind blowing.
