Gather round the campfire for an American Brown Ale inspired by the Texan Prairie Lands, where the style originated. Pine, spice and red berry aromas from Willamette, Liberty, Mount Hood and Crystal hop varieties pre-empt a full bodied texture. While a gentle caramel sweetness from the four malts give a satisfying, moreish finish.

Cask at Bird in Hand, Stafford. Pours a dark mahogany with a small scummy off-white head and good lacing. The aroma has red berries and caramel plus hints of rye and pine. In the mouth it is fairly bitter, but with a little underlying sweetness. Red berries again in the flavour, plus malts, traditional hops and spice with hints of toffee and oranges coming later. Bitterness lasts into the finish. This is quite nice.

Can. HOTM. Murky brown. Decent foam. Bit of yer charred grapefruit on top of roasty nutty malts. Semi sweet up front with a good hit of marmalade like bitterness. Easy drinking. Long Buxton bitterness on the finish. Good gear.
