Bottle shared at Cotteridge Convention 2018 - cheers all! Pours black-brown with a tan foam head. The nose holds ash and earth. Lightly sweet flavour, with some burnt toast, more earth, baking cocoa. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Finishes with mellow alcohol warmth, more burnt toast and ashy roast. Not bad. Straightforward.

Bottle split at Cotteridge Convention IV, many thanks, 23/06/18. Extremely dark mahogany brown with a decent light tan covering. Nose is dark fruit rinds, spice, charr, toffee crisp, cocoa powder, mellow roast, dark malts. Taste comprises tangy dark fruits, black peppery spice, charr, roast malts, cocoa powder, chocolate biscuit, dates, dried fruits. Medium plus body, fine carbonation, drying close with a balanced boost offered. Ok impy stout ... perhaps lacking some depth for a 9% number but ticks all the style boxes well enough.
