Stone & NOFX Punk in Drublic Hoppy Lager

When you just need something to wash the noise down

Somewhere along the line, lagers got a reputation for being a bland and boring style of beer. But when done right, a great lager celebrates everything craft beer should be. We’re still Stone. This is a hopped-up, bold, flavorful lager. So crack one open and revel in this self-entitled beer.

A donation will be made to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department for the beer already brewed and in market.

Bought online. Can, served in a lager glass. Stone x NOFX Punk in Drublic 5.8% I don’t drink Stone so much (too pricey in Japan I feel) but I like collaborations so I figured I’d give this one a go. Nice pale gold with a thick fluffy head and a white grape and herbal mint aroma. Medium to light bodied with a slick mouthfeel. The taste has a pretty strong herbal yet a bit dank hop bite, pretty good.

Dry clean fairly simple lager. Lacks a bit of backbone and hops don’t shine like I would hope. It’s an ok summer beer

Can from Bine & Vine. Pours light, bright gold with a creamy/foamy white head. Aroma of pale malt, but there's a lot of hop for a lager. Mostly lemongrass? Med body. Fairly dry and reasonably bitter. Definitely lemongrass for me. It's bitter enough to be really enjoyable.

This beer is a cloudy yellow color with a medium white head that diminishes steadily to an outer ring. Strings of lacing. Aroma of tropical fruit, hops and malt. Light-bodied with flavors of mild floral hops, fruit, malt and a bit of yeast. The finish is mildly bitter with a fruit and hop aftertaste. Decent overall.

Sampled on draft this beer poured a hazy pale yellow color with a large foamy white head. The aroma was vague fruity and floral hops. The flavor was dry and chalky with vague fruity and floral hops. Medium length finish. Medium body.

On tap at Hughies. Pours a cloudy yellow with large frothy white head that lasts. The aroma is pine and citrus. Slick body, melon, pineapple, grapefruit, bitter finish, very good.

On tap @ Punk in Drublic Ljubljana. Classy grassy, citrusy and piney IPL. Bitter, crisp and tasty enough for being festival’s no. 2 beer...

Can from Brewcraft at home. Clearish deep golden pour with dissipating fine white head. Aroma is cereal malt and some earthy wet hops. Taste isn’t that hoppy - not enough so to be classified as an IPL on Ratebeer, imho - but it’s got enough going on to be interesting while still maintaining lager crispness. Some pine resin, cereal malt, with a clean finish. Tasty lager.

From a 355ml can on 21/6/2018. Pours a clear golden with a small to medium white head. Has a very slight aroma of malt and grain. There's not a lot to speak of flavour wise, except for a big, sharp, somewhat chemical, tongue coating hop bitterness. Light bodied with moderate to average carbonation. Pretty rough and a big disappointment, given how highly I rate nearly everything I've tried from Stone.
