Deep copper and bronze coloured body with a very thin, off-white head that shows a centimetre or so in height. Aroma of strong papaya, lime, citrus, lemons and a good touch of brine and salt, but no vanilla components in the nose at least. Light to Medium-bodied; Strong vanilla bite at first from the lactose or creaminess with a big hit of tropical fruits next that do show a little papaya, but more mangoes and citrus fruits and a hint of wheat and lighter malts with a dash of brine at the end that makes this a tad salty. Aftertaste is fruity with the amalgamation from the blend and some light vanilla and creamy lactose notes show through with a light sour and tartness on the end. Overall, a funky beer and one that doesn't really resemble a sour or a spontaneously fermented product, but tastes much more like a gose with the slight salt component and a lot of wheats. Not a great option and definitely makes me think twice about trying other options from this brewery, should I see them again. I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from the Department of Beer and Wine in Alexandria, Virginia on 17-July-2020 for US$4,76 sampled at my house here in Washington on 20-July-2020.
