Mo’Mo’Wit 夏日麼麼啤 is inspired by the Belgian witbier tradition and is our firm summer favorite. Refreshing with a fragrant hint of summery spice, its brewed with wheat, scented with aged chen pei (陳皮) and gently spiced with a 5-spice blend of zedoary (沙薑), coriander (芫荽籽), chrysanthemum (菊花), chamomile (甘菊) and white pepper (白胡椒).

專門為香港的夏天設計的比利時小麥,釀造出的是一款帶有夏天味道清爽型的啤酒,用到未發芽的小麥,陳皮,芝麻,香菜種子,菊花,洋甘菊和白胡椒。

Bready and some light peppery notes. Clear pale gold with a decent white head. Soft and estery with a clean finish.

On tap at The Ale Project, pours a hazy blonde with a small white head. Aroma reveals the coriander and who knows what else in the spices department - pretty earthy and dry. Flavour is very peppery, earthy, and spicy, with coriander and strange herbal peppery notes. Fun whacko beer, but it's not overly pleasant.

Tap at the Freehouse, Singapore. Poured a crystal clear colour with a frothy white head and lots of bubbles. The aroma is yeast, light crushed banana. The flavour is light yeasty bitter with a light watery, light banana palate. Light bodied with average carbonation. Light and watery all round and there isn’t much to say about it. According to the commercial description there should be some significant spice in the palate but it just wasn’t there. Not really a beer most people would order a second time.

Hazy white coloured body with a soapy, white head, about three centimetres tall. Aroma of grassy wheat, some light yeast, a lot of mild spicey and grainy aromas and a touch of sweetness noticeable as well. Light-bodied; Strong grassy and herbal flavours at first with a very pleasant wheat and spice flavour right behind along with a touch of herbs and light sweetness. Aftertaste is mild and very subdued, but the flavours are nice - grass, yeast, wheat, coriander seed, curacao and a dose of fruit sweetness. Overall, a very easy-drinking wit with a nice flavour and good complexity - perfect for the heat of Hong Kong in summer! I sampled this 33 cL bottle purchased across the street at Jason’s Market Place at Happy Valley racetrack on Hong Kong [island] on 02-August-2017 for HK$29,00 while my kids were on the playground across the street at Happy Valley on 02-August-2017.

Bottle shared with Adamnowek, Erwin and tderoeck. Many thanks, Adam! Hazy white colour, lots of flowers in the nose along with camille and white pepper. Medium body, bit watery but also some tart citrus. Nice and interesting.

20/VII/17 - 33cl bottle @ home - BB: 12/II/18 (2017-1053) Thanks to adamnowek for sharing the bottle!

Pretty cloudy pale whitish to beige beer, creamy white irregular head, pretty stable, bit adhesive, leaving some lacing in the glass. Aroma: very floral, bit spicy, peppery, sweetish, yeast touch, hint of citrus. MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: lots of white pepper at first (which seems to be an ingredient as well), slightly sweet, yeast, bit spicy, sourish touch. Aftertaste: refreshing citrus touch, spicy notes, slightly sweet, soft bitterness. Original take on a witbier, I like it!

On tap at The Ale Project. Fresh and smooth beginning. A bit perfumy, smooth but not too deep. Very mild with smooth perfumy-floral hints. no typical WitBier aroma, but very mild and smooth with a full body on a slightly malty but fresh basis. Nice and round and fresh thirst quenching!
