33 cl. bottle @ home, bought @ van Rooij, Culemborg. Hazy brown with and off-white head. Malty and hoppy aroma with some faint aniseed. Medium bitter taste with again some aniseed at the end. A sort of mild black IPA with an aniseed twist. I like it.

0.33 l bottle, bottled in January 2016, courtesy of my Secret Santa 2016 MrHangover, thanks Johan! Clear, dark reddish brown with a large, frothy, stable, off-white head. Slightly sweetish, spicy, resiny and a bit roasty aroma of caramel, chocolate, nuts, aniseed and pine. Slightly sweetish, already quite bitter, malty, a bit roasty, resiny and moderately spicy taste of caramel, nuts, chocolate, aniseed, licorice and pine, followed by a rather long, quite dry-bitter, spicy, resiny and roasty finish. Medium body, slightly creamy and fairly effervescent mouthfeel, average carbonation. Very interesting, a bit all over the place, not that balanced but quite tasty and really intense. Nice!

Very dark brown with lasting head. Aroma and flavour have plenty of floral hop. Bitter from the hop and slightly sweet and numbing from the aniseed.

Bottle at home. Hazy brown with light tan head. Sweet malts, caramel, lot of hop, grapefruit, toffee, doughy yeastiness and some andives-like bitter vegetal notes. Over medium sweet and over medium bitter. Medium body and average carbonation. Big malty feel, bit milky. Bittersweet finish. The vegetal notes make this a bit awkward.

Bottled on 08-01-2016. Quite light for a dark ale, bit thin. Strong bitterness. Aniseed clearly present, adds a nice touch to the beer. OK.
