A classic Belgian style, brewed by modern hop obsessives. Ascension has been hopped in the mash, hopped in the boil, double dry hopped & then fermented with a blend of Vermont & Belle Saison Yeast. The result is a totally elevating fruit forward flavour flight with a dry saison finish. Ascension saison, hopped to the power of four!

Interesting beverage. Saison/hefeweizen hybrid with some NE-IPA influences. Banana smell, smooth and soft mouthfeel, tastes fruity and hoppy. Stone fruit, more banana, some dry citrus. Quite dry. Very suitable for this kind of weather.

Can at home. A massive head and a huge yeast aroma. Even with the doors and windows open my 7 year old daughter came into the kitchen and said "I smell beer." This is a saison and a half! The taste is uncompromising yeast, but pretty well balanced by the hops. It ripped across the palate and was tamed by some crudités and dips. I was watching The Voice - Kids with the family and the 6% abv helped to dull the pain. I'm still not sure about saisons and I struggle to say that I enjoyed drinking this one too.

Six half-pints of different Mad Squirrel beers in their High Wycombe outlet, shared with the wife on 2nd April 2018. Theydon_Bois (Colin) brought us here before the big match (Wycombe v Grimsby Town). On-tap, Keg. Hazed golden body, thin, wispy head. Decent enough Saison without the aroma of horse blankets and dirty farmyards you sometimes get. Semi-sour, semi-bitter, semi-enjoyable. Citrus fruits and yeastiness throughout.

Keg at the brewery tap Berkhampstead. A light hazed yellow straw coloured pour with a frothy white head. Aroma is nice fresh saison yeast, spicy citrus, farmyard wheat. Flavour is composed of soft white wheat, saison, lemon, straw. Palate is soft, easy, moderate carbonation. Nice character

Tap at the Mad Squirrel Brewery Shop, Amersham. Poured a hazy straw colour with a frothy white head. The aroma is grainy malt, earthy mineral, yeast, light fruit. The flavour is moderate to light dry yeasty bitter, light fresh fruit, dry hop bitter. Medium to light bodied with average carbonation. A very drinkable, nicely balanced Saison.

Growler at Daves, watching Arsenal vs Man City (0-1 presently), 25/02/18. Hazed orange yellow with a decent white cap. Nose is peach, bubblegum, citric tinged straw, tangerine, soft bread, grains. Taste comprises juicy citric flesh, hop burst, fresh grass, light candied fruits, mellow yeast strains, apricot, grains. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close splashed with juicy hop bitterness. Solid hoppy saison ... best MS beer for me since Cyclone.
