The best use of wheat since sliced bread!

The beer that brought us off the farm and into the city. Feral White is a Belgian-styled white ale with notes of orange peel & coriander. This marks a triumphant return of the original brew.

330ml bottle. Poured a slightly hazy straw colour with a fizzy white head. The aroma is yeast, grainy malt, light floral, light banana. The flavour is acid citrus with a crispy, light fruit, light dry spice palate. Light to medium bodied average carbonation.

330ml bottle into weizen glass. Pours with an ENORMOUS white head ( German style) which shows no sign of dissipating. Nose is sweet wheat with slight hops. Cloudy pale amber with a few bubbles tracing up the glass. Mouthfeel is creamy and mild. Nothing really strong in the taste department. Very late hop bitterness at the end. Looks the part but a bit boring.

Having read other reviews, I’d have to conclude that something went wrong. Smelled like sausage, tasted like sausage. Might have to try again and re-rate, but in the interim this is what it is, as the young people say.

(bottle) Poured slightly hazy straw with no head. Pleasant interesting aroma of coriander and other spice. Light body with moderate carbonation. Flavour has lovely complex foretaste with citrus, esters, banana, yeast but then it all drops away disappointingly to a rather one dimensional finish that is just slightly tart. Overall it’s quite refreshing and pleasant but the weak finish is disappointing.

On tap at the Rose & Crown, Guildford WA, April 2012. Cloudy yellow with a decent white head. Lemony grains, a touch of sherbet and dryish finish. A refreshing drink in a warm day.

Pours pale amber with a small lasting head.Nose shows coriander, citrus peel and some doughy wheat. Pretty spot on for the style, nice and refreshing.Same story with the flavours but with more of everything! Really quite nice.Great med-high carbonation and lightish body.

From a 330ml bottle on 30/6/2010. The aroma is like lemonade, citrus, bubblegum and banana. The taste is quite disappointing, with a sweet, weak lemon flavour prevalent, with not a lot else. Not one I’d recommend.

Bottle. Cloudy orange with an adequate white head that is smaller and less pillowy than Hoegaarden. Aroma is of orange, wheat and coriander seeds. If I had some I be tempted to sprinkle some on top, too. There’s a nice balance of flavours here - the citrus is prominent without being overwhelming and the bready characteristic is there but stays light. A nice beer true to the style, but as usual for me with wits, I was getting tired of it towards the bottom of the glass.
