Tap at the Market Hotel, Melbourne. Poured a clear dark amber ruby colour with a thin off white head. The aroma is sweet malt light woody hop. The flavour is moderate bitter light sweet with a sweet dry malt, toffee, light metallic, woody hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation.

On tap at The Orient in The Rocks. Deep amber/red colour with thin head. Tiny aroma. Spritzy chalky in the mouth. Finishes with toasted malt, a little hop background. Quite watery. Forgettable.

(Bottle) Good looking beer - clear reddish amber with good dense off-white head. Disappointing aroma - cardboard with hints of seaweed and toffee. Light body, good carbonation giving smooth mouthfeel. Taste is mostly insipid with some vague caramel sweetness, broken only by some harsh bitterness at the end. Disappointing - a triumph of form over function - it looks and feels good, but a beer needs to smell and taste good!

Tap, very cold at the Brisbane Marriott. Amber with a thin beige head. Malty aroma with toffee, weeds, some struggling spices. Brighter tastes is certainly sweet and dully caramellish, but spicy hops break through a bit more than expected. Sound but dull.

Nice copper colour. Small head that quickly goes. Malt comes through with taste of berries.
