Bottle at Sun Moth, Melbourne. Poured a hazy reddish brown with a fizzy short-lived off white head. The aroma is yeast, cherrries, oaky, doughy, biscuit. The flavour is moderate sour, with a light crisp, dry yeast, smooth, light tart sour cherry palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation.

Bottle. Reddish amber with an off white head that doesn't last. Aroma of cherries and cherry vinegar, oak, bracken, toasted brioche. Medium bodied, slightly slippery, medium to low carbonation. A balance of sweet and sour with toast, boiled orange peel, very nice cherries that have a plumpness as well as a tartness, bracken, marzipan. Great balance here - the beer remains nimble but there is power and depth from the cherries and oak; there is acid but the richness of the pale malt still registers. La Sirène are getting into that territory where they can produce beers that seem both rustic and sophisticated, complicated and casual.
