Complex Ruby Ale - Available in December. This Christmas, put down the sherry and pour yourself a glass of Blitzen instead. This cheeky little festive number is made with cascade and goldings hops, orange and mixed peels. A real winter warmer, apart from good friends and family.

(Cask at Akkurat, Stockholm, 31 Jan 2025) Ruby colour with foamy, beige head. Malty nose with notes of caramel, dark bread, dried fruit and prunes. Malty taste with caramel, chocolate, dried fruit, toast, prunes and a balanced spicy bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a slight sweetness. Well balanced winter ale. Quite nice.

Mahogany in colour, with a thin, off-white, head. Sweet, brown sugar and tangerine aroma, with leafy hops and some fruitcake notes. Flavour was much of the same, with plenty of sweetness, more fruits, and a suggestion of toastiness, before a moderately bitter finish. Fine.

Cask, half-pint shared with Finn at Borough Arms. A beige head blanketing the glass. Clear mahogany body. Semi sweet smell of doughy malts, hints of nuts. Caramel malts flavours, hints of dark fruits. Mid-sweet malt-driven finish. Satisfying. (Crewe 26.01.2020).
