Ise Kadoya IPL 5.5% Lovely light straw gold with dense white soapy foam that leaves good lacing behind. It’s got a good sweet grapefruit aroma with tutti-frutti and sweet tart hop notes. Medium to light bodied and bone dry. The taste adds an aggressively bitter woodsy hop flavor which kind of throws it off balance. I liked it a lot until I took a sip which knocked it down from great to ok/good. If they dial in the taste to more closely match the nose it’ll be a winner for sure. This was a Lawsons find for less that 500¥.
