Tap at the Brewpub. Kyoto Beer Lab K80 5.3% IBU 40 A pale ale using 80% Kyoto ingredients, local Yosano hops and Kyoto malt as well. This pushes up the price a bit but how does it taste? Nice clear copper color with a pretty thick off-white head. An aroma of caramel and woodsy pine. The beer has a medium body and an earthy woodsy character with some citrus. I find it a touch rough but considering these are new malts and hops from areas that didn’t used to grow them it isn’t half bad. Also I like to support local businesses and the economy.
