This label with a red velvet cake on it screams dessert so I had to get some to pair it with, I couldn’t get anything with raspberries but I got some Ichigo Mochi and an Ichigo Tart. Hoppy Road Velvet 5% Berliner Shake Framboise Vanille Salmon pink with a pink fizzy foam gone in a flash. In some lights the beer was almost orange and it has a very sweet raspberries aroma. The mouthfeel is pretty full with a spritzy round carbonation. The taste is acidic tart raspberries at first but with a balancing sweetness from the vanilla and lactose. With the Mochi it really highlights the berry flavor. The tart accents the Berliner Weiss tartness which in turn accentuates the creamy buttery pastry shell. I prefer the Mochi match up. A fun beer.
