Tap at Ichi-ya. Ichijoji Maple Brown Ale 5.5% 27 IBU A ruby-brown color with a thin film of light beige foam. The aroma is sweet bready malts featuring brown sugar and perhaps maple. Medium to light bodied and balanced, not as sweet as I’d expected from the aroma. The taste is burnt caramel iced dark sugar water, pudding chomeur and light black licorice. No noticeable hops and the light body while smooth feels kind of watery.
