Dogfish Head normally a favorite of mine, let us sample Tropical Squall. Snifter in place, I open the can and pour. An opaque gold body with a decent head of icy white foam. Plenty to smell with this beer, there is pineapple, grapefruit and citrus in general, not bad. The drink to me does not equal the nose. Pineapple again, malt, straw, a touch floral and white bread. I really expected the brew to take off for me, not the case.

Can, I think it says AUG 2025 on the bottom, drunk 9/16/25.
Lightly hazy, rich honey-blonde-golden. Large, off-white head steadily to partial cover.
Just smells like fruit juice, honestly. There's a bit of white bread malt behind it. Lower acidity. Not boozey, which is shocking.
Powdered sugar, fruit juice concentrate, syrupy Dole pineapple. Very cheap-tasting. There's a reasonable malt body here, which is about the only positive thing I can say about this beer. And it's not hotly boozey or cloying. Though on the sweeter side and that fruit flavor is pretty awful.

12 oz can, 7/20/25. Clear golden, fizzy white head. Sweet, candied tropical fruit aroma and flavor. Pineapple, peach, grapefruit. Smooth feel. Easy drinking for the high ABV. It's solid for what it is.

Clear golden color with a medium white head that burns away quickly to an outer ring. Short stringy lacing. Tropical fruit, malt and hops in the nose. Medium body with flavors of pineapple, melon, caramel malt and mild floral hop. The finish is fruity and thinner than the 9% implies, with a pineapple and malt aftertaste. Decent overall.

Golden with a medium sized white head. Sweetish with pineapple, artificial fruit and artificial sugar. A bit boozy. Medium length finish. Moderately full bodied.

2.5$ can from giant eagle large bird of prey. Pop the lid and it smells perfumy like cotton candy. Pour is crystal clear yellow. First taste is a little boozy with a warming sensation down the throat. Decent co2. Fairly smooth without much bitter hops in there, and I like that. I thought I wouldn't like this because I associated it with the other squall beers as being an IPA, But now I'm pleasantly surprised, its actually not bad. For a high impact strong ale, I don't find many of these strong armed brews having manners, this one is being fairly well behaved. Quite acceptable flavor profile fer sher. I could drink a few of these but I better be careful. Towards the end of this can I think I'm starting to catch the little buzz - a - rhoonie! Thanks DFH for a pleasant strong ale session.

Gold pour. It has a fruity aroma. Mango and pineapple. The flavor is big on the mango and pineapple with bready, grainy malt. Some alcohol is apparent. It works well.
