Dark brown, light coconut on the nose, along with some sugars. The palate is soft, a bit slick. Some toasty coconut, the sugars aren't as prominent, there's a bit of alcohol. The balance isn't perfect to me - it promises more richenss than it delivers, and the coconut isn't as prominent at any point as I normally favour. It's still pretty good, mind you.

500mL bottle, pours jet black with a small tan head. Aroma is full of coconut-infused rum, toasted coconut, and dark sugars. Flavour is dominated by intense coconut, coconut-infused rum, intense bitterness that almost has a sourness to it. Great coconut and rum character, but the body doesn’t quite seem there, and that intensely bitter finish seems suboptimal. Good, but not great.

Poured from 500mL bottle (bottled 2024). Very dark brown with very minimal beige head. Mild toasted coconut underlay, coconut rum, oily, a touch boozy, medium body. Would like a bit more from the base. Okay.

500mL bottle. Pours very dark brown with no head. Loads of coconut white rum on the nose. Flavour has rum and coconut up front, a bit sludgy up front, kind of hollow on the palate after the initial impact. I don't love the rum character, comes across as cheap student rum, at least on the nose. I don't love this.

Panda at home, thanks to Kenneth, 13/12/2025.
Black topped with a thin tan head that soon vanishes.
Nose is cacao nibs, mellow roast, charr, toffee, molasses, mellow barrel.
Taste comprises chocolate sprinkle, coconut shavings, light rum barrel, toasted brown sugar, dark malts, light roast, molasses.
Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced rising boost.
Solid.

Pretty much an opaque dark brown beer, small dark tan head. Smooth palate, slightly viscous, reasonable fine carbonation, absolutely fine for this brew. Smooth dark malts, a decent dark chocolate, nicely rounded and not at all cocoa bitter. Lovely soft coconut rum kicks in, the rich ripe fruitiness of rum seamlessly integrated with soft smooth coconut. Back end brings a little deeper dark chocolate and a coconut frosting. Long fruity rum and coconut linger. A delight. One of those beers that I thought I would love and was bang on the money.
