Tap at Beer DeLuxe, Federation Square, Melbourne. Poured a clear chestnut brown with a round white head. The aroma is grainy sweet nutty malt. The flavour is moderate sweet, light bitter with a smooth rich grainy, sweet nuttty malt, light fruit, light aromatic hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Can, 11C. Brown with a beige head that’s soon gone. Aroma of biscuit, some nuts and spices. Moderately sweet with caramel, biscuit and nuts. Moderate bitterness. Dull.

375 can into schooner glass. Very slight cocoa notes on the nose, ruby red beer with foamy white head which disappears to nothing. Lightly carbonated. Flat mouthfeel, full-bodied. Malty and tangy taste. Finish is sour, tangy, zingy. Unusual take on a brown ale. Super easy drinking though (it’s gone).
