0,2l from tap at Syltan Kök, Malmö. Black color, small coffee colored head. Smells vanilla, coffee, bitter chocolate. Nice to very nice smell, a bit heavy in the vanilla. Full body, soft carbonation. Tastes cocoa, coffee, vanilla, bitter chocolate, nutty, hazelnuts. Finishes light to medium roasty bitter with notes of cocoa, coffee and nutty notes. Quite nice one, lovely balance, a tad on the pastry side, but overall very good balance

440ml can from Left Field Beer, Solihull. Poured almost black in colour with a lasting frothy tan head. The aroma is roasty, caramel, coffee, chocolate. The flavour is moderate sweet and liquorice bitter, with a smooth, rich, roasty, caramel, dry spicy coffee, chocolate, liqourice bitter palate. Over medium bodied with soft carbonation. Took a while for the flavours to come through. Serve relatively warm!

Jet black with thick off white head. Loads of chocolate, coffee, caramel, roasted malt anrd cherry, boozy dried fruits. Really thick and unctuous. Delicious cask stout.

Cask at the Southampton Arms, London on 8th April 2025. Almost impenetrably black with deep tan foam and partial lacing. Rich and intense roastiness and cherry fruits in aroma. Explosively chocolaty and coffee-ey in-mouth with pungent fruits. A thoroughly satisfying, rich, intense finish. Utterly exquisite. Best stout I’ve imbibed so far in 2025 and will prove hard to follow.
