Opulence, as it's name clearly suggests, is an opulent beer. Take a whiff, and you get dark roasted coffee on the nose, some black treacle and a big hit of luxury Madagascan Vanilla. Sip the beer and find yourself sinking into its oaty smoothness. Otherwise a dry Stout, vanilla softens all the darker character and add sweetness without shattering the complexity of this beautiful beer.

Bottle split at Cotts Convention III, thanks to Daniel who heated this juanin advance on the roof of the train strapped to the overhead electrics, 20/05/17. Pitch black with a well presented tan cap. Nose is sweet malts, chocolate, vanilla, toffee, moscavado sugar. Taste comprises chocolate cake, light coffee, dark fruit rinds, fruit loaf, brown sugar, light roast. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a warming boost. Decent enough impy stout but no wow offered.

Bottle picked up at Beer Gonzo, shop, consumed at home Saturday 25th November 2017 whilst Mince and Cheese Pies and also Rhubarb, Blueberry and Strawberry Shortcake Pie ( both from Pie book) Pours black with a slim beige head, quite a bit of bonfire toffee, dark chocolate, plenty of roastiness. Chewy (but in a good way). The vanilla is restrained, it's there and adds a creamy edge. Really, really nice. A7 A5 T9 P4 Ov17 4.2

Cask pint at The Harp, Trafalgar Square, London. A black coloured pour with a medium dark beige head on top. Lovely rich aroma, roasty, malty, chocolate, vanilla, caramel. Tastes roasty, malty, chocolate, vanilla, caramel. Very rich tasting and pretty sweet but there is also this ongoing bitterness in there too. I liked this and would probably drink it again but I wasnโt blown away by it. A decent effort nevertheless.

Bottle from the dregs run. Cheers Stuu! Pours black with a thin beige head. Aromas of coffee, chocolate, hazelnut and a light boozy vibe. Taste is quite thin, sweet chocolate, blackcurrant, vanilla. Sweet finish. Dunno, expected more oomph.
