Imperial Stout Brewed with Coffee
One of our most coveted Nietzschean narratives, Genealogy of Morals, inspires our bourbon barrel-aged imperial stout of the same name. We present to you the opportunity to enjoy the non barrel-aged base beer, simply named Genealogy, brewed with malted wheat and locally-roasted coffee, then conditioned in stainless steel. Dark, rich and smooth, its complex flavors belie the singular vision with which we create it—echoing the work that inspires it.This is the the non barrel-aged version of Genealogy of Morals, conditioned in stainless steel. 500 ml bottle at home with big thanks to Mike!!! Black color with beige brown head. roasted malty aroma, lots of coffee, chocolate, dark chocolate, cocoa, licorice, dark dried fruits. Sweet and bitter like aroma but even better with some vanilla and woody-smoked notes addition. Full silky oily to creamy body with soft carbonation.

Thanks Huhzubendah for sharing the bottle! Poured into a taster showing pitch black with half a finger of latte colored foam. The nose shows a lot of rich roasted coffee bean. The palate is light bodied and moderately but smoothly carbonated. Flavors of milk chocolate and cacao nibs throughout ending on a light dark chocolate bitterness. Fantastic.

(On tap @ Warpigs HF Day, Copenhagen, May 12 2016) Pours black with a small dark tan head. Aroma lead by roasted malts with a fair helping of coffee, backed by liquorice, chcolate syrup, hops, light vanilla and green pepper. Fairly sweet initial flavours of dark toffee-like malt, sweet chocolate, coffee, slight dark fruit, vanilla, roast fairly restrained. Finish is semi-dry, roast coffee apparent, liquorice, slightly leafy bittering hops, and a persistent core of dark malt and chocolate. No real alcohol presence. Medium-full bodied, soft carbonation, a bit viscous. A solid coffee stout, not transcendent however.
