Vortex meets Bodhizafa, a collaboration with Georgetown Brewing.
Imagine if the best loved IPA in Washington State met up with Oregon’s longest-standing, year-round, best-selling Vortex IPA. They meet in the stands at a college football game halfway between Astoria and Seattle and by the end of the third quarter, they’re shaking hands and cracking cans. And the cans they crack are Vortizafa.
Part Vortex, part Bodhizafa. Bright, silky, positively citrusy, brewed with the power of two Georges: Fort George and Georgetown.
Brewer's Notes
Vortex x Bodhizafa + VORTIZAFA
Hops: Simcoe, Comet, Chinook, Citra
Malts: GW 2Row, Flaked Wheat, Flaked Barley, Weyermann Acidulated, GW Munich 10

Pale and slight haze. A fair bit of bitterness. There’s some cool hop but fuck me the citra is a bit too dominant. Ok malt. So it’s good but 8
I really hopes these breweries would let the good hops out but nah. Citra fucks up an otherwise good beer, as always. And it’s a bit sticky too.

Aroma has notes of peach rings, pine, mango Mambas. Taste has a high pithy bitterness, finishing dry, with tropical and piney hop flavors. Not nearly as good as Bodhi by itself. It’s been awhile since I’ve had Vortex, so I can’t compare that one. Interesting experiment, though.
