INTENSE & MALTED. An exceptional winter beer with flavours of caramel, liquorice, ripe fruits and a note of macerated prune.

Bottle from somewhere in France. Poured a clear dark reddish brown with a thin broken off white head. The aroma is sweet malt, sugar, ripe fruit. The flavour is moderate to strong sweet with a dry yeast, fruity, light hop bitter palate. Medium to light bodied with soft carbonation. A real sugar bomb.

Bottle 75 cl. Pours a clear, warm amber with a beige head. The nosw has syrup and brown sugars. Rich, sweet caramellish body, heavy on the sugars yet somehow manages a decent balance. I have a suspicion this is bottom fermented. A clever brew. 231215

Thank you! Sampled 250 ml. bottle @ Kerstbierfestival Essen 2015. Brown amber, mocha bubbles. Nose is metallic, varnish, industrial,… Taste is industrial, fizzy, boring, varnish, syrupy malts, faint raisin,… Body is fizzy & chemical. Processed to death, you taste almost nothing & the carbonation doesn’t help. Meh. I added some multi-fruit juice to this one & it not only worked quite well but we also unanimously agreed that it actually improved the body & mouthfeel. That should tell you something.
