Clonmel 1650, named after one of the most historic events of the town of Clonmel, celebrates the resilient spirit of the people and demonstrates the strong ties our business has to the small Irish town where it all began. At 4.3% ABV, Clonmel 1650 is a fine example of a pilsner style lager. It has a slightly fruity, estery nose, with a subtle hoppy character. This makes Clonmel 1650 a well-balanced and medium bodied lager, ensuring moreishness and sessionability!

Tap @ Paddy McGiddy’s, Tenerife. Pours clear golden with white head. Decent crispy, bittersweet lager with short sweetish finish, lively carbonation and light body. I’ve had many worse.

Keg halfpint, as Clonmel 1650 Pure Irish Lager, at Madigan’s, Dublin. Pale golden colour, white head. Sweetish aroma of pilsener malts, notes of butterscotch. Soft mouthfeel. Sweetish bland flavour with some butterscotch, minimal hops. Won’t buy again.

Tap at Robinsons, Belfast. Poured a crystal clear straw colour with a thin white head, some clingy lace and lots of bubbles. The aroma is lager malt, light hop. The flavour is moderate bitter with a light watery malt, light woody hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with lively carbonation.
