A fresh, unfiltered brew perfect for lazy summer days. Our Wahoo White is brewed with unfiltered, un-malted wheat and oats that give it a distinctive cloudy complexity. True to the Belgian tradition, this Witbier boasts a refreshing, citrusy flavor thanks to the orange peel and coriander we add to the boil. This makes Wahoo an ideal beer for year-round beach weather.

Sample at 1808 American Bistro. This brew is a hazy yellow-gold color with a medium thin white head that dissipates steadily to an outer ring. Short strings of lacing. Aroma of malt, wheat and spice. Light-bodied with flavors of wheat, bready malt and fruit. The finish is wheaty with a spice and citrus aftertaste. Slightly above average overall.

22 ounce bottle into pint glass, best before 8/25/2013. Pours hazy golden straw color with a 1-2 finger foamy white head with decent retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with moderate streaming carbonation retaining the head. Aromas of lemon, pear, banana, orange peel, coriander, clove, pepper, wheat, bread, floral, grass, herbal, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of malt, spice, and yeast notes; with solid strength. Taste of lemon, pear, banana, orange peel, coriander, clove, pepper, wheat, bread, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Light bready tartness on the finish; with lingering notes of citrus, banana, pear, coriander, clove, wheat, pepper, bread, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a bit. Very nice balance of malt, spice, and yeast flavors; with a good amount of robustness and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a fairly creamy, smooth, and crisp mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a very nice witbier. Very nice balance of malt. spice, and yeast ester flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

Bottle shared at BrewDog Camden. It pours hazy pale golden yellow with a small white head. The nose is clean, wheat, fresh citrus peel, tangerine, banana and dough. The taste is pithy citrus, orange peel, tangerine, wheat, spice, herbal notes (esp. coriander) and dough with a dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. An easy drinking, well balanced wheat beer.

Bottle from Brewdog, Edinburgh. Pours a light orange colour with a nice head. The nose is sweet but fresh - some citrus and a touch of hops against the background of sweet wheat, The taste has more of the same and the citrus note is now more obviously orange. The palate is fairly light in body, texture and it falls away quite quickly. Overall, it’s easy to drink but it could do with some more structure I think.

Cloudy pale gold beer, little white head. Dry crisp palate. Lots of dry wheaty malt, a little orange citrus before a dry finish. Bland and stupidly dry!

Pizzeria Paradiso, Alexandria tap ($6): Pours a hazy pale with a white head. Aroma is yeasty, orange, banana, and spice. Taste and body are extremely light. It barely feels like I am drinking much at all when this done be quaffed. The tastes are all present, but in a very light and watery way. This is kind of like a pretentious lawn mower beer. It is good, but really easy.

Pours hazy gold into a shaker. Bright white head with little retention recedes to hug rim. Sour summer fruit aromas. Sweet spritzy wheat upfront turning watery in the abrupt finish.
