This is Helles in its most natural form. We use colder fermentation and longer lagering times to give this unfiltered lager bready aromatics, a crisp and peppery finish, while maintaining the complexity of our traditional Helles style.

Reviewed from notes.
Bottle to lager glass.
Appearance: glossy yellow color with an even keeled transparency about it and a four and a half fingers of white foamy head which dissipated nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: biscuity malt tones up front with some lemony to grassy sweet spicy hop notes and a touch some bready to ever so slighty toasty tones
Flavor: blends the prior noted aromas to a fairly nice malty quality underscored by a little hop spice; finishes with a nurturing malty vibe
Texture: light to medium bodied, sessionable, some smoothness but also a little bit of some sweet grains seeming to nick the tongue a little bit
Overall: not a bad Helles lager, maybe it could be just a wee bit smoother in the feel and possibly get some of that "toast" out of the aroma then this beer will be well on it's way to greatness.

Pours slightly clouded. Has your standard grassy notes and such. Good enough.

Unretired. $3.00 pint can, WW. Slightly hazy gold with a large off-white head and lots of carbonation. Grain, green leaf and grass aroma. Green leaves and grasses, grain, corn, bread crust, black pepper.

Enjoyed at the brewery April 2018. Hazy golden colour with a frothy white cap, decent stay and some foamy lace. Cereal grain aromas with hints of sourness, yeast and honey. A little sourness in the taste as well, but does not feel like infection. Maybe something from citrus. Very nice bitterness in the finish to balance this out. All with a smooth cereal grain base. This unfiltered version of Helles is cloudier and blends better the hops with the cereal grains. Shows more character.
