Combine a drop of pure Canadian maple syrup and dash of hoppy goodness and the result is a gloriously crafty golden ale - Maple Gold.
The use of maple syrup and cascade hops give a sweet aroma with a light citrus twang that leads into a smooth, well-hopped and crisp drink. A soft carbonation paired with full flavour makes Maple Gold an easy-drinking, award-winning ale.
Maple Gold pours a clear golden colour and at 4.3% ABV, it’s the lighter cousin of Maple Moon.

Bottle at home. Pours clear golden with a short-lived thin white head. Aromas of buttery malt, faint maple syrup. Taste has the lightest hint of citrus hops, more sweet butteriness. Watery finish. Forgettable.

Bottle shared. Poured a crystal clear medium amber with a thin broken white head. The aroma is buttery creamy caramel malt, light citrus hop. The flavour is moderate to light bitter with a light, fresh, slightly watery, light floral hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

500ml clear bottle: BBD of 28 Oct 2013. Shared with the wife on 13 Jun 2013, poured into two ’Palm’ badged bulbous glasses. As the name suggests, this is clear golden in colour, the white head soon became a collar and wisp. Also as the name hints, there is a maple syrup feel to the nose and taste. So fairly sweet from the off: mild hop bite or well carbonated, one or the other? OK, if a little one dimensional. The wife liked it more than me.

Bottle from B&M Bargains; clear golden amber pour with white head, grassy aroma, taste is a bit skunky and slightly like a lager shandy, slight hint of maple. The drain is going to get wrecked tonight.

Clear golden without a head. It comes in a clear bottle so light exposure gives it a slightly skunky aroma and taste, but remains drinkable.
