At a tasting, thanks, smallish bubbly head, quite clear dark orange color, shrubby green aroma with some biscuit in the back, sweet jammy and biscuit flavor with some herbal tea notes, light to medium bitterness. Drinkable but not too exciting.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Max’s place. Thanks Naama. Golden. Aroma of malt, grains, caramel, a bit of floral hops, slightly stale. Sweetish flavor with malt, caramel, a bit of biscuits, and bitter floral hops, slightly stale. Medium-bodied.

Bottle at Takumi Craft Bar, Kuala Lumpur. Poured a cloudy reddish amber with little life. The aroma is woody resin hop, light citrus fruit. The flavour is moderate to strong bitter with a rich, crisp, refreshing malt, resin hop, light pepper spice palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. It’s all about the hops and not really one for a session.

330ml bottle pours out a copper color topped with a tan sand head. Nose is old cereal malts and and a touch of grassy hop. Taste is pretty much all malts and a tad of hoppy bitterness on the end.

Kinshachi IPA on tap at Craft Beer Man - I was sure I’d rated it before. A clear ruddy red pour with a thick beige head and a woodsy one bark like aroma. Medium-light bodied with an earthy pine bark bite and some residual sweetness in the finish. Quite nice.

330 ml bottle from Takashimaya basement, Nagoya station. Pours with a nice top, color hazy copper. Aroma is not very hoppy, more like sweet toffee, malts, caramelized sugar. Taste resembles IPA a bit more but not completely. Sweetness shadows the alcohol content, hop bitterness comes out in the aftertaste. Feels creamy. Overall, not really an IPA as I know them, a bit too sweet, but I am happy I decided to try this.

Bottle from my wifes relative in Nagoya, Japan. An amber coloured pour with a small white head on top. Hoppy, fruity, caramel aroma. Tastes similar hoppy, fruity, caramel, malty. More like an ESB than an IPA.

A golden amber IPA with a thin off white head. A light c-hops in aroma, biscuitty malts, classy. In mouth, a nice crisp malt with floral hops, grapefruits, smooth and classy. Bottle at Mondiale 2009.

From the hand pump during Real Ale Month at Qbrick in Osaka. Bubblegum rich aroma with fruits: cherries, citrus. Great balance with the malt. Flavor of citrus hops, fruit, gumballs, cherry. Nice but missing a kick—too low in alcohol? Nice balance, a very good session beer, but a bit too fruity.
