Sampled from the tap at the brewpub. Pours a clear orange gold with a white head that dissipates to the edges and laces slightly. Aroma has a combination of earthy grains and earthy citrus. Flavor has slightly earthy citrus throughout with a grain backbone.

Keg at the brewpub, 8/15/16. Clear copper, large dense creamy tan head, good retention. Aroma of tropical fruit and caramel malt. The taste is tropical fruit, pine, pale malt. Medium bodied, mild lingering bitterness.

Hardly makes the pale ale classification, don’t really see anything golden, but tastes pretty good. Kind of tastes like they have something like Vienna Malt in there for a bit of toastiness, that I like.

On tap at HopCat in Madison, pours a clear orange with some ringing, white head. Nose has old school C hops, vinous, pine, citrus peel, herb, a little crackery too. The biscuit, malty backbone really ties everything together, flavors or lemon and herbs too. Light soap. Dry finish. Very drinkable.

Tap at Next Door. Amber-brown body. Kind of a grainy feel. Very earthy, rindy. Not so great. Sweet toffee notes. Not unlike a Steam beer oddly, Kentucky Common feel. Not that great.

Sample at Great Taste of the Midwest on 08/09/2014: Served from a pitcher while in line for Toppling Goliath. Clear dark orange color with a medium white head that dissipates steadily to an outer ring. Strings of lacing. Hoppy aroma with citrus and malt notes. Medium body with flavors of herbal hops, citrus and malt. The finish is moderately bitter with a lingering fruity hops aftertaste. Above average and a nice start to the festival.
