Our version of the classic Belgian Tripel is faithful... to a point. Pilsner, wheat and aromatic malts together with noble German hops provide a traditional Tripel profile. A hefty Citra dry hop brings huge mango and citrus flavours to the fore.

Tap at the Birmingham Beer Bash, 2016. Poured a hazy light amber with a thin white head. The aroma is medicinal hop, yeast, light alcohol. The flavour is moderate to strong bitter with a dry Belgian yeast, sweet fruit, alcohol bitter palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. A fine example of a Belgian triple from a British brewer!

330ml bottle from Saucy Pears, Worcester. Pours hazy amber, moderate white head. Opened without checking the label after a particularly spicy burger and, on first sip, assumed it was a juicy tropical DIPA. On further investigation, some creamier leanings seem present. Soft, creamy and sweet with a soft vanilla icing aroma. Taste has moderate spice, perhaps doesn’t have the body or carbonation of an Abbey tripel. It’s an enjoyable effort tho.

Bottle from Beer Gonzo shop, Earlsdon, Coventry, Saturday 30th April 2016 Pours light to mid amber in colour with a sticky white head. Spices on the nose with a little burnt coriander and gently toasted wood. Soft in the mouth, a little bit of vanilla and toffee and spice, lovely sweetness. Nice warmth but never tastes at all boozy. Bottle (9.0% ABV) from The Beerhive. Murky brown body with a thick off-white head. Faint lacing. Aroma of celery, mango, flowers and pine. Flavour of red apple, honey and subtle spices. Medium body with a smooth, oily texture. Light fizz. Really good. Fruity and hoppy. More like an Imperial IPA than a Tripel.

330ml bottle from the Beer hive. 9%. Pours amber with a thick white head. Aromas of light spice, yeast, tropical fruit. Taste is sweet, spicy, fruits. Quite a lot going on, as my brother might say. Long, spicy finish.

Bottle at Inspire, Coventry, 22/04/15. Clear golden with a decent off white cap that retains well. Nose is bubblegum, yeast esters, candied fruit peel, juicy citricana, hop notes. Taste comprises more candied fruit rinds, peach, apricot, light spice, Belgian yeast esters, juicy hops. Medium body, fine carbonation, light booze streak in a hopped up finale. Solid tripel, way more hop presence than a ’trad’ one but creates a good bitter sweet balance so drinking never becomes a chore.
