Brewed in collaboration with our friends at The Source Coffee Roasters, King Void uses a heavyweight dose of roasted and black malts (~15%) along with a host of other dark and crystal malts to create the blackest beer possible. We cold steeped this beer over a four day period, on natural process Rwandan coffee beans, in addition to ethically farmed Colombian cacao nibs and Indonesian vanilla beans.

0,25l from tap at The Northerner. Black color, small tan head. smells coffee beans, earthy, spices, tobacco, bitter chocolate. full body, light carbonation. tastes sweet, vanilla, spices, nutty, tobacco. finishes light to medium sweet with notes of spices, vanilla and nutty notes. Rather on the sweet side, drinkable overall, gets better when warmer, but rather heavy

440mL can, pours jet black with a medium dark brown head – what a beautiful appearance. Nose is bold, with deep roasted malt, dark roast espresso, and a hint of dark dry cocoa – reminds me of Great Divide Yeti. Flavour is rich, smooth and complex, with deep roasted malt, espresso, cocoa, vanilla, and moderate dark sugars. Really rich dark malts and coffee, finishing with vanilla and sugar. Silky smooth palate with everything in good balance–definitely sweeter than Yeti. Excellent.

Can shared by my bro. It pours nearly black with a thick, dark tan head. The aroma is smooth, super dark roasted malt, dark roast espresso, dark chocolate, nutty, praline, tarry, umami, liquorice, toasted sesame seeds and rocky road. The taste is bitter - sweet, slick, dark roast malt, chocolate cake, gateaux, plenty of coffee, espresso, burnt toast, mild acidity, chewy, toothy, vanilla, espresso martini, tiramisu and support from warming booze with a slick finish. Full body, average carbonation and quite velvety mouth. Rounded and moreish, but not too sweet.
