I'm turning 40 this year and I'm having a Twmpath for my birthday! This bright and cheerful Prospect Orchard blend is the perfect celebration cider - sightly sweet, and beautifully bubbly.

Twmpath is a Welsh Word that means hump or tump (a little hill). Originally a hump or raised area on the village green where people would gather to play music and dance. Now used in a similar way to Ceilidh, a social dance where a caller instructs and couples dance to live music.

This cider is a selection of early to mid season dessert, cookers, and cider apples grown at Prospect Orchard, Powys (our home orchard).

Varieties included: Somerset Redstreak, Morgan Sweet, Tom Putt, Dufflin, Frederick, Welsh Druid, Red Devil, Baker's Delicious, Lord Derby, Discovery, Moelfre Bank, Lady's Finger, Beauty of Cornwall, King of the Pippins, Devonshire Quarrenden, Irish Peach, Keswick Codlin, Coleman's Seedling.

31/5/2025. Bottle shared by danlo, cheers Ed! Pours clear golden orange with a short lasting bubbly white head. Aroma is juicy apple, funky, fleshy, touch woody. Medium sweetness, light tartness. Drying. Light carbonation. Pretty good.

750ml bottle from Aeble. Deep golden colour, foamy white head that dissipates to a thin rim and aroma of apple, funk, honey, fruit. Taste is tangy, tart, appley, fleshy, fruity, with some woody funk and drying tannins. Medium bodied, light carbonation, dry tannic finish. Nicely drinkable.
