Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial Stout with Espresso Flavor, Chai & Honey
The newest Barrel Aged Imperial Stout is another installment in the MARTY series (which are inspired by Espresso Martinis... with fun lil' twists when we're feeling sassy).
Espresso (of course), CHAI SPICES, and a touch of honey make CHAI MARTY one you won't want to miss!

Reviewed from notes.
Bottle to snifter.
Appearance: dark brown close to black in color with a quickly dissipating head that didn't leave any lace
Aroma: dark malts with roasty tones; light whiffs of coffee, bourbon barrel/woody sweet to spicy tones; honey, super light on the chai spices
Flavor: blends mostly the bourbon barrel, coffee notes and honey while the chai spices seem to try to make first shift on this but still fall just a touch short; finishes mostly with the bourbon barrel, honey and coffee tones
Texture: medium bodied, leaning towards being a sipper; some smoothness but also some barrel nicking to the tongue along with the spices
Overall: not bad but not sure why all of these stouts I keep trying from Prairie have heads that last shorter than a jackrabbit on a date.

Sweet and boozy, spiced, dark roast coffee, some barrel. Wouldn't have guessed chai but spice mix is quite prominent. Nice.

Bottle.
A- Black color, black liquid, minimal brown head.
A- Sharpie, chocolate, mild spice.
F- Fudge, chocolate, chai, mild booze.
T- Full body, average texture, average carbonation, complex finish.
O- Really nice chai and chocolate flavor backed up with the right amount of barrel influence. Tasty.
