A warped version of Albino Squid Assassin, this super exclusive small batch beer sees us amp up the rye character to the max.
This red rye IPA has spent six months sequestered in rye whiskey barrels, drawing incredible toasty, spicy and oaky flavours from the wood.
The hops have softened and morphed from pithy citrus to ripe autumn fruit, while the malt base has picked up cinder toffee and cinnamon. An incredibly deep and complex IPA.

330ml bottle. Pours dark ruby with little head. Aroma is spice (cinnamon and vanilla), oaky bourbon and a little plum. Flavour is huge cherry, hot spice, sweet caramel, oak and lots of rye whiskey character. Absolutely delicious.

(Bottle) Pours clear ruby deep Amber with small beige head. Fantastic aroma: complex mix of fruity notes - ripe peaches and citrus - with some woody and pleasantly medicinal notes (took me a long time to actually taste it because I had to keep sniffing it). Full bodied, smoothwith gentle fine carbonation. The taste is complex and unusual, and rather a surprise contrasted with the aroma. There’s a rich dark toffee backbone to the taste. This develops burnt sugar notes as the palate develops. Over this there are sweet fruity notes at the start, and hoppy bitterness in the finish. A very impressive and unusual beer. For me the rather aggressive finish didn’t really work well with the rest of the taste and aroma.
