A warped version of Albino Squid Assassin, this super exclusive small batch beer sees us amp up the rye character to the max.
This red rye IPA has spent six months sequestered in rye whiskey barrels, drawing incredible toasty, spicy and oaky flavours from the wood.
The hops have softened and morphed from pithy citrus to ripe autumn fruit, while the malt base has picked up cinder toffee and cinnamon. An incredibly deep and complex IPA.

Bottle at home, 3rd November 16. Pours a copper red, clear beer. Aroma is spice, caramel. Taste is complex and full, very sweet, caramel, spice, candy, vanilla, bourbon and barrel. A little like a barley wine. Its OK, I preferred this before the barrel

Bottle. Really really rasty. Lots of coconut, dried fruits, full body, moderate hoppiness. Really good. Great.

330 ml. bottle. BBF 30/04/18. Very dark reddish amber, deep tanned small head. Pine resin goop nose, bitter grapefruit peel, caramel, almost herbal, herbal sweetness, whisky is low, touch sweet whiskey. Taste is mellow out compared to the original, still pine resin, bitter grapefruit peel, going to herbal, thick pine resin goop, whiskey adds vanilla, toffee, sugar, lingering sweet whiskey note,… whiskey has definitely mellow it out or possibly it was just time aka equally just as likely, whiskey doesn’t fully blend but it is a nice & delicious addition. Carbonation is quite soft. The whisky is very yummy. Bit odd since you get clear old DIPA notes here a bit but I like it all the same largely due to the nice whiskey profile. I think of a nice added portion of fresh Squid Assassin this beer might rock even more. Interesting & yummy. Not as optimal as it could have been I feel.

330ml bottle from Ales by Mail. Pours dark reddish brown with a smooth white head. Aroma of wood, oak, caramely malts, toffee, whisky, vanilla, hints of rye and butter. Taste is malty, oaky, woody and slightly buttery with loads of whisky, vanilla, toffee, caramel and hints of herbal hops. Finish is sweetish, malty and oaky with loads of wood, whisky, vanilla, toffee and hints of butter. Pretty smooth.

Bottle courtesy of Geraint cheers Geraint! consumed at home making Quesidallas, Thursday 4th August 2016 Reddy/amber in colour with a filmy light beige head. Wow so oaky, rich, a touch Belgian feel to this, it’s soft in the mouth, tangy but a steady warmth from the alcohol. Very nice but the Brewdog fans know best because the Mashtag is the better beer in my opinion. Shared with Barry, cheers Geraint!A7 A4 T7 P5 OV15 3.8
