An English style Barley Wine, this batch is very special. We blended in two bourbon barrel barley wines that have been aging in the barrel since 2015 (rare to have that happen; typically non-Belgian style beers are aged for roughly a year or so). These barrels, which had big flavors of perfume, sherry, toffee & vermouth, were blended in a fresh barley wine that has big classic notes of rich cherry, semi sweet fino sherry, and port wine.

Panda, courtesy of S.H.I.G., pours with a brown with burnt rusty orange and mahogany hues supporting a thin light tan head of foam. The aroma offers up plum and fig like fruity esters as well as thin malts and molasses in the background. The taste delivers smooth slick sweet plums and dates and figs blending into a growing sweet maltiness. To midway the malts pick up a faint toffee to molasses sweetness becoming apparent as the sweet dark fruity esters fade into the periphery. Very nice barleywine offering.

12oz can courtesy of mansquito. thanks. pours a clear roan brown color with a small off-white head that soon fades to a ring around the glass. The aroma is dominated by toffees and caramels. The taste, like the aroma is all about the toffee--and its delicious. The bitterness is rather mild. The palate is full with soft carbonation. Finishes long and dry with lingering toffee. Overall: Decent--this is a banging barleywine.
