Cask at the Peterborough beer Festival 2017. An opaque dark mahogany brown coloured pour with a loose dirty tan head. Aroma is woody, balsa wood, bark powdered choc. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, nutty malts, powdered choc, peanuts, damp grains,. Little bitter blackberry. Palate is semi sweet creamy, milky, lowish carbonation. Ok.

Cask at Cambridge Winter Beer Festival, Friday 20th January 2017 in company of FatPhil, Anna and Helen Pours almost black with a thin rim of tan bubbles. Dark muscovado sugar in the mouth,a little charcoal, it’s quite full on but with a real dark fruity edge. Nice, really nice. A7 A4 T7 P4 Ov15 3.7

Cask @ Dockyard, Salford. Very dark brown with a small creamy off-white head. Has some milky-sweet flavour, although its roasted malts are low and it feels a touch thin too.

Cask at the Post Office Vaults, Birmingham. Poured a clear dark brown with a thin broken light tan head and plenty of clingy lace. The aroma is smoky malt, light caramel. The flavour is moderate sweet, light bitter with a smooth creamy, smoke, spicy hop, liqourice bitter palate. Medium to full bodied with soft carbonation.

Cask (Harbour View, Sunderland) - Black with a foamy tan head. Liquorice, coffee and plain chocolate in the aroma. Smooth and easy to drink with notes of roasted malt and plain chocolate dominating. The roasted malt notes linger long into the finish.
