Spring is here and so is Disco Nouveau! In it's 5th Anniversary!
We love to celebrate the shift out of winter with our first release from the 2024 harvest. Inspired by the enthusiasm of our friends over in Beaujolais, who always release their first wines from that year's harvest on the third Thursday in November, we kicked off the Cider Nouveau movement in 2020 and it's been one of our favourite annual releases ever since.
The ever fragrant Discovery apples are amongst the first to ripen in the UK and August is marked by the scent of the fruit being pressed and the juice sent to tank to ferment.
Disco Nouveau allows us to showcase the Discovery apple in all it's glory. The 2024 edition seen a splash of zing from the venerable Foxwhelp apple and, for maximum freshness, bottled as a pet nat.
A wild fermentation brings out those gorgeous aromatics, a cider that pours with the effervescent personality of strawberry fruit laces. This is a cider with real energy, light and bright and a real reflection of the cool summer we had in 2024. Think pink hued sweetshop treats and crisp red apple skin balanced out with a touch of salinity, keeping it all on the grown-up side of things.

750ml bottle from Little Pomona. Opened with a pop. Hazy pale golden colour, foamy white head that dissipates to a thin rim and aroma of apple, fleshy, skin, fruity. Taste is tart, tangy, appley, fleshy, juicy, with strawberry & stone fruit notes and mellow malic acidity. Medium bodied, spritzy carbonation, dry tart & acidic finish. Nicely drinkable
