330ml bottle picked up at Vinmonopolet Aker Brygge a few years ago. A patchy off-white head leaving lacing rings down the glass. Cloudy apricot body. Restrained sweet aroma of dried fruits and honey. Rather sweet to the taste buds as well, with honeyed dark malts, bite of syrup and dried fruits towards the ending. Lingering and rounded end. Nice sipper, rather sweet in the long run. (Shared with Finn and djoeye, PivotekaH7, Tromsø 07.12.2017).

Bottle at Taps Beer Bar, Mont Kiara. Poured a hazy medium amber with a thin broken white head. The aroma is light sweet malt, cheesy yeast. The flavour is moderate sweet with a rich alcoholic malt palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. A smooth, rich "barley wine" with lots of flavour and well hidden alcohol.

Keg at CASC. It pours oily golden with a small white head. The nose is sweet, doughy, candied orange peel, sugary, spicy, apple pie, pear, apricot and orange chewits. The taste is smooth, panettone, stewed orange, apricot, peach, candy, spice, warming alcohol, sugared almonds, earth, wet wood, with a warming finish. Full body and fine carbonation. Nice depth of flavour. Good for the style. Solid stuff.

(Bottle) Hazy amber with minimal head. Very pleasant aroma with toffee, desert wine, vanilla. Lovely mouthfeel, full bodied, creamy and sticky with a bright tingle of fine carbonation. The taste is extraordinary. It starts out refreshing and tangy and fruity, then plenty of sweetness develops to in turn be replaced by peppery spice, alcohol and some bitterness. The transition from tangy to sweet has vinous notes to it. The sweetness is complex; it’s rich without being heavy. A very impressive and unusual beer. Experiments like this often in result in beers that I am glad I tried but won’t search out again; this however I would happily drink regularly.

Keg at The Hanging Bat. Having been none too impressed with the others in the NZ selection I had tried, this one finally hit the mark! A big boozy vanilla/toffee ice cream of a beer. Lovely.
