Wakefield Beer Festival 2018. Wooden cask version. Brown in colour with a hoppy darker malt character that includes a small sweetness. Barrel ageing is not too evident.

Cask at the Wellington; clear dark amber pour with a bubbly off white head, aroma has sweet caramel and some winter fruits, taste has a hint of spice, some fruit and wet leaves, how is this a golde?

Cask at the Wellington, Birmingham. Poured a clear medium amber with a bubbly white head. The aroma is light hop light malt. The flavour is moderate bitter with a citrus fruit, malt hop bitter palate and a lingering bitter finish. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Apparently un-retired in 2014 and a superb session ale!

Cask at the Euston Tap. Pours clear copper with a thick, foamy head. Bread and earthy hops in the nose. Lightly sweet flavor with faint caramel and grassy bitterness. Medium in body with creamy carbonation. Lightly dry, earthy bitter finish. Nice.

Cask-conditioned at the Bag ONails, Bristol 7/10/08. The 2008 version was amber coloured with a decent white head. Aroma of caramel and grassy hops. Flavour was sweet, with lots of toffee, red fruit and a juicy hop finish. Drinkable.
