500ml bottle into an ’Old Speckled hen’ badged pint vase glass at home on 15th April 2016. Golden pour, slight misty look, wispy white head. Lemonade like in aroma and taste with a rum twist in the flavour. I am not a fan of beers infused with Rum and this is no different, not ’my cup of tea’ to be honest. Label mentions the Rum, so I knew what I was getting, just will not be getting another one. Scored objectively.

500ml bottle. Clear, orangey, deep golden colour with average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Cautious citrusy hoppy aroma, hints of gooseberry, some husk, light caramel with vanilla tinge. Taste is pale malty, very cautious hints of vanilla, rum and leather, subtle sweetness, hoppy overtones with gooseberry notes. Light and easy drinkable, with a very nice, subtle but most welcome rum tinge.

Bottle from Beers Of Europe [160115]
Dark amber, clear, thin white rim around glass, little head
Aroma - soft fruity light caramel, very little aroma
Taste of soft golden caramel, soft sweet bit fruity malts, very little citrus hops, mainly sweet malts, not a lot going on
Palate - Very soft carb, medium body, light sweet. Finish a bit dry, getting a dab of rum on the tail, bit more bitter
Overall - Not sure that the rum adds much to this. Bit dull but OK to drink.

Clear deep medium amber colour, poured a one finger fizzy white head which disappeared within seconds, lacing. Malty nose, light roasted, brown sugar, grass, light citrus, bit of alcohol. Taste medium sweet and bitter, biscuit, herbal notes. Medium body, oily texture, average carbonation, dry bitter aftertaste, slightly sweet, bit of wood, light herbal notes, lingering spicy (ginger, pepper) mouthfeel. Overall a decent ale, persistent spicy mouthfeel is a minus point.
