On cask at The Rat & Ratchet, pours a clear dark brown with a small beige head. Aroma brings out gentle cocoa and some earthy notes. Flavour is full of vegetal and cocoa notes, and gentle earthiness. Too vegetal. Meh.

2nd June 2018. Hand-pulled half-pint at The Bridge End Inn, Ruabon. Red hue to the dark brown body (in bright sunshine), lightly tanned foam head. Nose and taste had plums, chocolate and liquorice within the malty brew, nice.

Cask at The Wellington, Birmingham. Poured a clear dark brown with a thin broken tan head. The aroma is roasted malt, red berry fruit. The flavour is medium bitter with a watery malt liqourice peaty smoke dark chocolate hop bitter pepper spice palate and a long liqourice bitter finish. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

A potent roast nut aroma, similarly strong in its flavours but a balance taste. Have seen this at a couple of Yorkshire beer festivals since.
