Dry, ancestral method, 2023 Vintage

Grown of the Welsh Marches, this naturally sparkling grape skin contact cider is a celebration of some of the finest produce of our local area. Once pressed siegerrebe grape skins, organically grown by Black Mountain Vineyard were submerged in newly fermenting Foxwhelp juice from apples harvested from 90 year old trees in the Golden Valley for six days and six nights. Having given up their perfume, the skins were removed and the remaining juice left free to ferment.

Lemon rind and sun warmed blackcurrant skins influence the nose whilst notes of piquant lime juice leap on the tongue. Pairs well with an indulgent cheesecake.

Black mountain vineyard and winery is a small organic vineyard in rural Herefordshire, near the boader with Powys, Wales.

750ml bottle from Artistraw. Sparkling, golden colour with slight reddish tinge, foamy white head that dissipates to a thin rim and aroma of apple, strawberry & caramel hints, grape. Taste is tangy, tart, bright appley, grapey, with a strawberry note and some acidity. Medium bodied, high carbonation, drying acidic finish. Nicely drinkable.
