This beer is a collaboration between All In Brewing and Brouwerij De Molen. A rich Swedish whisky oak aged imperial stout that we brewed with some sweet and salty liquorice. Drink it today or in a couple of years. Do not fear the dark side!

Black color with almost no head. Strong aroma of dark chocolate, roasted malt, dark bread, light cookies leather and liquorice; hints of whiskey; very light phenol.
Almost no carbonation; it has an excellent chocolate flavor, followed by roasted malt and dark bread; the mouthfeel is a bit drier than the average De Molen Imperial Stout, lean, not oily despite the low carbonation; strong bitterness, with more roastiness in the final that becomes almost pungent. It provides feelings that go from the liquor to the digestive.
Excellent sipper.

Draught @ All In Beer Fest 2013. Pours hazy pitch black with a frothy a bubbly dark mocha head that slowly dissipates while leaving a small trace on the glass. Smell is sweet and malty with roasted malts, salty liquorice candy, charred wood, bourbon whiskey, dark roast coffee, moist soil, bitter chocolate, vanilla fudge and hints alcohol and soy sauce. Taste is slightly sweet, bitter, salty and malty with roasted malts, salty liquorice candy, dark roast coffee, charred wood, moist soil, ammonium chloride, bitter chocolate, prunes, raisins, vanilla fudge, alcohol, burnt caramel, oatmeal cookies, minerals and hints of bourbon. Mouthfeel is round, smooth, boozy, roasted astringent, oily and near full bodied. Finish is bitter, salty and malty with roasted malts, ammonium chloride, dark roast coffee, bitter chocolate, charred wood, alcohol, moist soil, burnt caramel and burn cookies. Shows a lot of potential but I’m afraid it needs some time to mellow out a little.Re-rate! Homer rating courtesy of Marsiblursi. Smell has turned strong lager doppelbock. Taste is heavy roasted bitter with bitter chocolate, charred wood, vanilla fudge and burnt cookies. Mouthfeel is still soft and quite amazing. Tasty stuff! Giving it and extra 0.1.Re-rate! About 6-7 months later it’s not as hot anymore and has developed into a nice intense IS. Tasty stuff... --- Beer merged from original tick of The Empress Strikes Black on 29 Jan 2014 at 21:41 - Score: 8

Draught at All in beer festival 2013, cons 2013-11-01 Göteborg I really apriciate when the brewer adds the beer him/herself before the festival - thank you Sir! AR: vanilla notes, liqurice, roasted malt dry chocolate, AP: pitch black colored body, no head F: raw bourbon notes, sugary sticky feeling, coffey, liqurice, good but will probably be better cellered for some time
